She has done clinics and workshops across Saskatchewan and Alberta, and is currently planning one to teach her intuitive method of healing sometime this spring.
Brenda Hanson has been working professionally as a healer since 2002. She does Healing Touch, Jin Shin Jyutsu, and her own method of spiritual healing. She also offers information about vitamins to people who she believes would benefit from the use of them.
She has always been a healer. Her parents would bring her 35 miles one way to heal her grandmother’s migraines. As a child growing up on a farm, she would place her hands on sick and injured animals and they would feel better afterward. She stopped doing this kind of thing in general when her parents divorced, and went to school to become a teacher.
After her mother died of cancer, Brenda was diagnosed with a severe case of melanoma. The prospects weren’t good, as melanoma is very lethal. After removing the mole, they were sure the cancer had spread and scheduled her for another surgery. The night before, she prayed to God and said, “If you let me live, I will do your work,” over and over. At about 2 a.m., her arm burnt like it had been touched by fire and she knew that she was healed. She wasn’t sure what to say to the doctor so she went through with surgery anyway, and indeed, they found no cancer.
After teaching for a few more years, she felt a very strong call in 2002 to go back to healing. After talking it through with her husband, she took a course in Healing Touch and started seeing clients. She did a lot of her own method of healing, but wanted the course because having certification is important for some people to feel comfortable. She was very successful with this.
The next year, she took a course in Jin Shin Jyutsu. She was happy to see that it was very much like how she used to heal the animals on the farm. She has since taken many courses in Jin Shin Jyutsu, as each instructor has a slightly different and interesting perspective on it.
She started her business by offering just three gift certificates as prizes for a raffle. Her business quickly grew by word of mouth alone. She now works full-time and has two healing houses, one in Big River and one in Saskatoon. She has given workshops and classes on her spiritual healing methods, worked at numerous healing gatherings, and has given several talks about her life.
The body has an energy field, and it flows in patterns throughout the body. Through infections, injuries, and mental/emotional stress, the energy patterns can be disrupted and disharmony occurs. This makes it difficult for the body to heal and can result in recurring injuries or infections, and depending on the location of the issues, can cause chronic maladies to occur.
She places her hands on or over specific places in the body to help it heal itself. The energy from her hands help the displaced energy in the client’s body to flow properly. When the energy goes back in place, the body can heal itself.
Brenda has worked on people with a wide range of illnesses, such as cancer, herniated discs, Sick Building Syndrome, deafness, heart disease, addictions, anxiety, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn’s Disease, diabetes, anger/emotional issues, mental illness, sports injuries, back pain, headaches, infertility, and many, many others.
